About
This article describes how using tourniquets for children with serious limb injuries is safe and effective. The study looked at 37 kids who had tourniquets applied, often by bystanders or emergency workers. Most of the tourniquets were put on correctly, and none of the children had problems because of them. Almost all kids went home after treatment, and no one died in the hospital. It suggests that more training could help people use tourniquets properly and that bigger studies are needed to make better rules for using them in children.
