    About

This article describes how statewide programs recognize hospitals that are ready to care for children in emergencies. These programs help emergency departments improve their ability to treat young patients. By following certain guidelines, hospitals can become better prepared for pediatric emergencies. The study found that these recognition programs are linked with higher levels of readiness in emergency departments across the United States. This means that when a hospital is recognized by such a program, it is more likely to have the right equipment and trained staff needed to provide good care for children during emergencies.
