About
This article investigates the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for tracking patients and medical equipment in disaster response scenarios. The study deployed RFID infrastructure at hospitals, a medical center, and vehicles, successfully demonstrating the efficiency of real-time asset identification and tracking. Volunteers were able to locate assets quicker using RFID compared to traditional methods. The system also integrated GPS for seamless region-wide tracking. Overall, the study concludes that RFID tracking can enhance resource deployment coordination during disasters by providing a real-time overview of medical assets across facilities.
