This journal article describes how important it is to help children and their families find each other after disasters. When kids are separated from their parents during emergencies, it can be very scary and harmful for them. Planning ahead for family reunification helps keep children safe, reduces stress, and supports their recovery. Hospitals, emergency workers, and communities should work together to make sure there are clear plans in place so families can be reunited quickly during disasters.
