About
This journal article describes how being close to a high-level children’s emergency department affects the readiness of nearby general emergency rooms to care for kids. The study looks at whether general ERs near top children’s hospitals have better scores for pediatric care. It finds that proximity does not always mean higher readiness scores, suggesting other factors are important in making sure all ERs are prepared to treat children well.
