This journal article describes how hospitals that are better prepared to care for children have lower death rates for injured kids. The study looked at trauma centers across the United States and found that when emergency departments are more ready to treat children, fewer young patients die from their injuries. This shows the importance of making sure hospitals have the right equipment, staff training, and systems in place to help children who get hurt.
