This flyer describes how to safely transport children in ambulances, explaining the right and wrong ways to use child restraints to prevent injuries. Children should always be secured in the right child restraint system based on their age and weight. Parents can ride with their child if they are also properly restrained. Never transport a child on a parent’s lap or use damaged car seats from crashes. Do not leave equipment loose inside the ambulance while moving.
