About
This editorial comments on a study titled "Assessing Clinical Improvement of Infants Hospitalized for Respiratory Syncytial Virus–Related Critical Illness" by Leland et al. 2025. It found that infants under 3 months old and premature infants may not clinically improve from RSV-related lower respiratory disease, despite available prevention products. Toddlers and young children are still at risk of severe RSV. There is a need for better RSV prevention and treatment in these age groups. The CPS-Ped score shows promise for future studies and trials but requires further validation.
