This study uses two national data sources from the U.S. to estimate how often autism and medical complexity occur together in children. It describes the healthcare costs linked with these conditions. The research aims to provide a better understanding of how common it is for children with autism to also have other medical issues, and what that means for their healthcare needs and expenses.
