About
This video demonstrates the push-pull method for quickly giving fluids to pediatric patients. It explains the materials needed: a three-way stopcock, a 60cc syringe, a fluid bag, and primary tubing. The process involves connecting these items and using the stopcock to control fluid flow. First, you draw fluid from the IV bag into the syringe by turning off access to the patient. Then, switch off access to fluids and push it smoothly into the patient. This may need repeating several times for effective administration of fluids quickly in children needing rapid infusion.
