Nirsevimab should be given during the RSV season, usually from October to March in Michigan. Newborns should get a dose within their first week of life or before leaving the hospital if they stay longer. Nirsevimab can be given with other vaccines without issues. It offers protection for up to five months, possibly a year For those eligible for palivizumab, nirsevimab is preferred unless unavailable.
