About
This study looks at how respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) affects children in the ICU. It describes that 11.4% of pediatric ICU admissions are due to RSV, with many needing serious treatments like ventilation. New prevention methods, nirsevimab and a maternal vaccine, could reduce these cases by up to 2.8% and cut ICU days by up to 5.9%. The research suggests that increasing the use of these preventive measures can lower hospital stays and improve outcomes for kids with RSV infections in intensive care units across the U.S.
