Weather emergencies and disasters are important events for EMS to understand. Of the ten most devastating natural disasters, only Louisiana, Florida, and Mississippi have been impacted more than North Carolina. Additionally, North Carolina is susceptible to man-made disasters. North Carolina currently has three operational nuclear reactors and the potential impact zone from a rector event encompasses the majority of our state's urban centers.
