Frostbite affects extremities; warm affected areas gently without rubbing. Trench foot results from wet feet in cold conditions; keep feet dry and avoid walking on them if affected. Chilblains cause skin redness and itching; warm slowly to relieve symptoms. To stay safe: wear layers of loose clothing, take breaks indoors, carry extra clothes, and avoid touching metal with bare skin.
