About
These guidelines aim to improve collaboration among emergency medical services (EMS), public health, emergency management, and 911 services to enhance community resilience during emergencies, including public health crises. These efforts were influenced by the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the need for better coordination and integration among these services. 5 states comprised the pilot program: Alaska, Florida, Maine, Michigan, and Nebraska. The project recognizes the valuable role EMS can play in community healthcare delivery and seeks to facilitate intentional collaboration in both crisis situations and daily operations.
