About
This study by the National Fire Protection Association and Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy explored how to best communicate fire safety messages to children aged 4-9. It compared positive and negative message framing and examined the role of parental mediation. Using age-appropriate videos, the study assessed children’s recall, understanding, and response to safety messages, as well as parents’ perceptions of the videos’ impact. The findings aimed to determine the most effective methods for teaching fire safety to young children.
