The article looks at how emergency departments (EDs) have policies for children's mental health. It describes how certain features of EDs, like size and location, affect whether they follow recommended guidelines for pediatric behavioral health. The study finds that not all EDs have these important policies in place. Larger hospitals and those in urban areas are more likely to have them compared to smaller or rural ones. The goal is to improve care for children with mental health needs by encouraging more EDs to adopt these guidelines.
