On March 5/6, 2013, a fire set near the Children's Hospital at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg caused chaos. Dense black smoke entered the tower, flames were visible, and patient rooms heated up. Despite the emergency, staff efficiently evacuated all 121 patients within 15 minutes using the HICS model. The webinar will delve into the events, showcasing fire photos, discussing patient management during the 12-hour ordeal, and sharing personal stories from nurses, a parent, and the Incident Commander. Lessons learned, support strategies, and reflections on the evacuation will be explored, providing valuable insights for handling future crises.
