About
This scoping review examines emergency and disaster preparedness for children and youth with disabilities and chronic conditions, as well as their caregivers and service providers. Analyzing 27 studies from a pool of 1146, involving 2613 participants across nine countries, the review identifies key trends: the current state of preparedness, influencing factors, and effective interventions. The findings highlight significant gaps in preparedness planning for this vulnerable group, emphasizing the need for greater attention and inclusion in emergency planning to improve resilience and reduce vulnerability during disasters.
