About
This article presents a qualitative study focusing on household emergency preparedness (EP) among Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and Filipino parents in Hawaii. Conducted through interviews with 25 female participants, key themes emerged, such as perceptions and behaviors related to family EP, barriers faced, and strategies for improvement. The study highlights challenges, including lack of knowledge, cultural barriers, and economic constraints impacting EP practices. The findings underscore the need for targeted interventions involving health clinics and technology to enhance household EP among Indigenous Pacific People families and address obstacles to accessing healthcare services during public health emergencies.
