About
This study examined how evacuation stress and hurricane exposure affected youth somatic complaints after Hurricane Irma in Florida. The research found that greater evacuation stress led to more psychological distress in youth, which in turn increased somatic complaints. This highlights the importance of preparing youth and families in disaster-prone areas for potential evacuations to reduce distress and health issues.
