About
This article describes how a regional pediatric disaster network helped start telehealth services across Washington during the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, many clinics couldn't offer telehealth visits. A needs assessment showed they required simple, low-cost systems and fair billing for these services. Two weeks later, support was provided to 45 clinics with help from advocacy groups and state authorities. The effort ensured that even under-resourced providers could access telehealth solutions. The collaboration of pediatricians with regional experts improved healthcare access through telehealth in Washington State during the pandemic.
