This commentary article highlights the importance of flu shots for people with disabilities during COVID-19. It describes how people with disabilities are at higher risk for severe flu and face barriers to healthcare. The pandemic makes it even more crucial to get vaccinated, as both viruses can strain health resources. Alternative vaccination sites like pharmacies and drive-thru clinics can help improve access. Effective communication is needed to ensure everyone understands the benefits of getting a flu shot. Improving data collection on disability status in health surveys could help address health inequities faced by this group.
