This National Pediatric Readiness Project (NPRP) Toolkit helps emergency departments (EDs) improve pediatric readiness with tools aligned to 7 key areas: Administration and Coordination; Healthcare Provider Competencies; Quality and Process Improvement; Policies, Procedures, and Protocols; Support Services; Guidelines for Improving Pediatric Safety; and Equipment, Supplies, and Medications. The toolkit offers resources for doctors and nurses to improve pediatric care in the ED. It also supports hospital leaders and families by providing recommendations on how to enhance readiness for treating young patients.
