The report discusses the importance of preparing healthcare professionals to respond to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) incidents, especially when children are the most vulnerable. Efforts have been made to develop educational materials and training programs to enhance disaster preparedness in treating children affected by such disasters. The National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health played a key role in convening a conference to lay the groundwork for a pediatric disaster preparedness curriculum.
