About
This article reviews the response of the Koriyama Medical Association after a massive earthquake hit eastern Japan on March 11, 2011. Utilities were disrupted, and hospitals were damaged. The association set up an operations center to help transfer patients and provide healthcare to evacuees from radiation zones. High radiation levels caused stress, especially for children. A project team was formed to protect children from developing PTSD by creating a safe environment despite low-level radiation exposure. The association's history of cooperation helped them manage the crisis effectively and support affected communities during this challenging time.
