    About

This clinical pathway for infants over 28 days and children with suspected sepsis or septic shock is outlined in flowchart form. It describes identifying signs like fever, tachycardia, and altered mental status. The process includes a "Sepsis Huddle," quick evaluations, lab tests, and treatments like IV fluids and antibiotics. There are two zones: Yellow for suspected infection without shock and Red for septic shock or organ dysfunction. Reassessment is frequent to monitor response to treatment. If needed, advanced interventions such as vasoactive therapy or ECMO may be considered.
