About
This article describes a university's partnership with community agencies to conduct a pediatric disaster simulation on campus. Nursing students cared for many victims in this large-scale exercise. A graduate student worked with a youth theater group to teach children about disaster preparedness, leading to their involvement in the event. Parents found the experience positive and said their children enjoyed it and would participate again. The exercise aimed to enhance nursing education by providing real-life emergency response practice for both undergraduate and graduate students, involving hundreds of participants from various health care fields.
