About
This study, conducted in 2011, assessed emergency preparedness in 253 community residents with disabilities receiving personal assistance services. Results showed that involving the personal assistant (PA) and prior emergency experience positively impacted preparedness scores. However, many participants lacked crucial preparedness measures like "go-bags" and back-up plans for their PA. The study emphasizes the importance of addressing preparedness gaps in this vulnerable population for better emergency readiness.
