About
This article explores healthcare workers' willingness to work during a pandemic and the factors influencing their decisions. The study conducted at The Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado, in 2007, found that belief in being asked to work and a sense of professionalism were linked to willingness to work. Clinical healthcare professionals were more willing than support staff, with safety concerns and childcare issues being significant barriers. The results suggest a need for educational programs emphasizing professional responsibility and addressing concerns related to personal safety and family well-being. Targeted initiatives for different staff categories could enhance overall willingness to work.Tags
