This article is about how hospitals in Akron, Ohio, prepare for emergencies, describing the emergency plans at four major hospitals: Akron General Medical Center, Summa Akron City Hospital, Summa St. Thomas, and Akron Children's Hospital. The research includes interviews with hospital emergency managers to find out what works well and what needs improvement in their plans.
