About

This brief report describes a school closure in Colorado due to flu-like illness. It looks at how families were affected by the closure, such as work and income issues, child care needs, and missed school services. Most families found the short closure manageable, but some faced challenges like missing work or losing pay. Many students still went out during the break. The study suggests that schools should consider families where all adults work outside when planning for closures in future health emergencies.
