About
This study looked at whether women who gave birth in Arkansas in 2009 had an emergency plan. By adding a question to the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System surveillance system regarding emergency preparedness, it was found that 48% had a plan. Hispanic women were less likely to have a plan compared to non-Hispanic White women. Families with five or more members were more likely to have a plan. This data can be used to promote emergency planning among postpartum women, especially Hispanic women and those with smaller families.
