About
The article explores the impact of educational programs on behavioral change in disaster preparedness within communities. A study involving over 3800 high school students from multiple countries examined the relationship between disaster education, age, gender, and country-specific factors with students discussing disasters with friends and family as a proactive behavioral change measure. Results showed that age, awareness, and future planning did not significantly influence discussions on disaster risks. However, students from low disaster risk, high-income countries were more likely to engage in such discussions. Despite the significance of predictors like national disaster programs and school lessons, they were not sufficient in predicting disaster discussions among teenagers.Tags
