About
This article describes the development of a Youth Resilience Corps (YRC) aimed at engaging young people in youth-led community resilience activities. The YRC, a set of tools designed to involve youth in disaster resilience efforts, was developed with input from various stakeholders. A pilot test conducted in Washington, DC, during summer 2014 involved semi-structured focus groups and youth surveys to gather feedback on the YRC tools and assess participants' learning. Results indicated that the youth comprehended resilience concepts, enjoyed the activities, and learned from them.
