About
This study evaluated the disaster response of three hospitals in Los Angeles, focusing on pediatric victims. A simulated earthquake exercise was conducted, revealing that while the exercise improved participants' preparedness, there were opportunities for enhancing communication, equipment availability, physician participation, safety, security, and staff understanding of roles. Recommendations include increased training on pediatric disaster triage, safety and security procedures, and regular assessment of supplies and communication for better response to pediatric victims in disasters.
