About
There are currently no critical care pediatric programs for critically injured children in mass casualty situations. To address this gap, the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) developed pediatric casualty care guidelines in 2011. These guidelines were created by a special pediatric working group using expert agreement, best evidence, and current practices. The group reviewed literature on pediatric casualty treatment, including data from emergency departments, operating theaters, pediatric critical care, prehospital care, and international disaster response. The findings were published as the initial pediatric appendix to the TECC guidelines in 2013.
