About
This study compared disaster training and confidence levels among resident trainees from different specialties at a medical center in March 2013. Emergency medicine (EM) residents received more disaster instruction (7.3 hours) than non-EM residents (1.3 hours), leading to higher confidence levels. Both groups preferred simulation exercises for education. Non-EM residents showed lower confidence in disaster response and received less disaster education. It suggests that non-EM residents need more training to boost their confidence in disaster situations, especially for large-scale emergencies like mega mass casualty incidents.Tags
