About
This review was conducted to evaluate current efforts, propose a response plan structure, and suggest policy actions in regards to pediatric surges during infectious pandemics. It identified 162 articles discussing pediatric pandemic surge, leading to the recommendation of organizing response plans around 4 key areas: structure, staff, stuff (resources), and space. Conclusions reveal that the United States (US) health system needs to better prepare for pediatric surges by aligning response plans with national guidelines and adapting them to local needs.
