About
This article discusses the importance of establishing a collaborative response network among children's hospitals where they can share best practices, enhance preparedness for high-consequence pathogens, and improve care capabilities nationwide. This initiative aims to reduce the need for long-distance patient transfers and strengthen the country's capacity to treat children with serious infectious diseases. The idea is inspired by successful models like the Laboratory Response Network, which improved threat identification and care during emergencies. Three options for the structure of a children’s hospital response network are offered: tier-based network, regional centers of excellence, and regional communities of practice.Tags
