About
Disaster recovery aims to provide basic needs like food, water, and shelter to survivors, but after the initial phase, some individuals may still face food insecurity. This study on Hurricane Katrina survivors found that factors like social support and self-efficacy were linked to lower odds of food insecurity. It suggests that building social support networks and enhancing self-efficacy can help reduce food insecurity after a disaster.
