This study evaluated the impact of Superstorm Sandy (2012) on Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) providers in New York State. It used focus groups, interviews, and surveys to gather information from WIC staff in affected areas. Recommendations for improving emergency preparedness include better communication methods and flexible resources. The research aims to help public health services continue during disasters by learning from past experiences with Sandy's impact on vulnerable populations like women and children who rely on WIC support.
