Addressing Children's Needs in Disasters: A Regional Pediatric Tabletop Exercise

This study assessed the impact of a tabletop exercise on pediatric preparedness during public health emergencies. 22 people participated in the exercise: 12 pediatricians and 10 public health officials from the 5 states in Federal Region VI (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas). Participants developed strategies and improved their knowledge and confidence. The exercise highlighted the importance of collaboration between pediatricians and public health officials.
