About
This study investigated the use of triage tags by emergency medical service (EMS) personnel during disasters and mass casualty incidents (MCIs). A survey compared triage practices in training versus actual incidents, revealing challenges like low tag use and incomplete triage during real events. Communication with hospitals mostly relies on verbal reports when tags are not used. Proximity to hospitals was a common reason for not using tags. The study highlights the need for better integration of MCI practices into real-world scenarios.
