About
This study examined a regionally funded stockpile in 2016 to determine its readiness. Findings revealed that, on average, 60.1% of materials were deployable (safe and usable). Personal protective equipment (PPE) and general medical supplies were best maintained, while decontamination and pediatric supplies had low deployability. Despite claims of annual assessment, nearly half of the supplies were missing or unusable, posing risks to disaster response and public health. Investment in infrastructure is necessary for maintaining stockpiled materials.
