About
This article discusses disaster preparedness strategies and behaviors among rural families with children who have special health care needs. The study aimed to explore the impact of self-efficacy and response-efficacy on disaster preparedness. Data from 287 rural families were analyzed, revealing low levels of disaster preparedness. Results indicated that disaster preparedness levels increased with higher self-efficacy and family resilience sources. The findings highlight the vulnerability of children with special health care needs during disasters and emphasize the importance of enhancing self-efficacy and family resilience to improve disaster preparedness in this population.
