About
This report examines data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) via a national survey conducted periodically to evaluate school health policies and practices. It focuses on 2006, 2012, and 2016 School Health Policies and Practices Study (SHPPS) surveys using district-level information. Specifically, it looks at crisis preparedness within the healthy and safe school environment questionnaire. Noteworthy differences were found in urban districts where there was more funding for and offering of preparedness training. The report suggests schools work with local health departments to improve crisis plans and ensure everyone is ready when disasters happen.Tags
