About
The article assesses the level of disaster preparedness in urgent care centers across the United States. A questionnaire was distributed to center administrators to gather data. Results showed that only a minority of centers have established disaster plans or practice them regularly. Additionally, a significant percentage of centers are unfamiliar with emergency shelters and evacuation plans. Suggestions for improvement include developing and practicing disaster plans annually, increasing familiarity with emergency resources, providing surveillance for potential threats, collaborating with community organizations for planning, and assembling emergency kits. These findings highlight areas where urgent care centers can enhance their disaster preparedness efforts.Tags
