About
This study involved a survey of patients/parents at Children's Hospital of New Orleans post-Hurricane Katrina to identify barriers in caring for hematology/oncology patients., such as lack of evacuation plans and difficulty accessing care. An "Action Plan" was implemented, including identifying evacuation plans, locations of care, updating treatment plans, and providing information to families. A follow-up survey 7 years later showed improved preparedness, access to care, and continuity of care for patients.Tags
