In this article, the authors share their experiences in a Florida Children's Hospital during Hurricane Irma in September 2017. They activated their incident command center (ICC) 24 hours before the storm, ensuring care for vulnerable pediatric patients. The hospital operated with 467 associates and 40 physicians for 92 hours, performing urgent procedures and accommodating patients. Planning ahead and deploying staff preemptively allowed for safe hospital operations and efficient care delivery during the crisis.
